The passing of a relative or friend can be a difficult and distressing time, especially if you have also got to deal with their affairs. Not everyone is forewarned that they have been entrusted with the role of Executor and so this can come as an additional shock. Equally daunting is the discovery that there isn’t a valid Will and that one of the deceased’s family members will have to be appointed as Administrator.
We are here to provide assistance and relief from the anxiety. We can help you prepare the papers to obtain a Grant of Representation or can deal with the administration of the entire estate. The level of our involvement is entirely dependant on your instructions.
With the approval of the beneficiaries a Will can be varied so that the estate is distributed differently, often in a more tax efficient manner. We can prepare a Deed of Variation in such circumstances.
We would be happy to assist you with any matters or problems and offer an initial 1 hour fixed rate consultation to discuss the procedure and your options.
If you would like more assistance we can assist you on a fixed fee basis to simply assist you to apply for the Grant of Probate or Grant of Letters of Administration (including the inheritance tax return). Alternatively we can assist with the full administration of the estate including freezing the account accounts, applying for probate, encashing the assets and distributing the inheritance.
